Meet Zharna
My name is Zharna Welch, the owner and operator of Monarch Business Solutions. I started Monarch in early 2018, driven by a love of business, systems and working out how things can be done better.
I am a Certified Master Bookkeeper of the Institute of Certified NZ Bookkeepers (ICNZB) and am both an MYOB Certified Consultant and Xero Specialist Advisor. My experience also spans a wide range of accounting platforms, business add-ons and payroll systems, allowing me to look beyond a single product and find what genuinely works for each business.
I’m naturally curious about what makes a business tick and can never resist untangling a problem or finding a smarter way to do something. I’m also a firm believer that there’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all solution — what works brilliantly for one business can create complete chaos in another.
I particularly love audit and clean-up work, but I don’t just want to fix the problem and hand it back. I help businesses put the right systems and processes in place to keep things running smoothly going forward.
There are plenty of brilliant time-saving apps available, but even the best technology can create a mess if it isn’t chosen, set up or used properly. My role is to cut through the noise, give you practical advice and find the right fit for the way your business actually operates.
I am also a Production Accountant and love working in the TV and film industry. It’s a break from some of the day to day bookkeeping and I enjoy looking at the numbers from a different angle.
